Over 1500 Remote Terminal Units (RTUs) for the Distribution sub-stations and over 100 RTUs for the Transmission sub-stations including Traction Power substation for Light Rail Transit (LRT) system.

The RTUs monitor and control status and fault alarm of circuit breaker, isolator, transformer and ancillary equipment.  It also does interlocks and sequence functions for remote control of circuit breakers and generator operations

The ISMS was implemented in the year 2004. The System integrated Closed Circuit Video Surveillance System (CCTV), Fence Intrusion Detection System (FIDS), Public Announcement System (PA), and Building Access Control System (BACS). It provides user with one common platform for remote monitoring and security access control to all Sub-stations.

To date there are over 4000 cameras installed, 1500 access control doors and over 29km of FIDS laid.  The ISMS provides a comprehensive approach towards security decreasing vulnerability to incidents and better respond to event.
